Rules and Regulations
Large amounts of people result in large amounts of opinions. In order to eliminate debate we have written up guild rules. Please read this entire set of rules (memorization is not necessary). Joining the guild signifies that you have read the rules and agree to follow them.
Feel free to speak to any Guild Master, Officer or Guru in the guild if you have any questions.

General Rules
-Be polite, courteous, and respectful to guildies and non-guildies alike.
-Remember you represent the guild at all times. Behavior that gives the guild a bad name is unacceptable.
-Need before greed.
-NO DRAMA.
Players who leave the guild in a dramatic gesture or for any other reason are not automatically given a re invite after they come to their senses. Officers can vote on whether the person should receive a re invite. If the person is re invited and again leaves the guild in a similar fashion, they will not be given another chance.
In order for someone to be involuntarily removed from the guild, a unanimous vote by the guild masters is required. Typically, a discussion and vote will be conducted beforehand. However, in extreme cases, a guild master has the authority to remove someone on the spot. An explanation for the removal, discussion and vote will happen afterward. If the guild masters do not unanimously vote that the removal was justified, the player will be re invited with an apology.
Players who leave on friendly terms (i.e. valid reason with advance notice) or who are removed from the roster due to an unexplained, extended absence (over 3 months long) may be invited back, pending an officer vote.
Order of Diligence is NOT a stepping stone guild. Players who join the guild, gear up and leave for more progressed guilds will most likely NOT be invited back if things don't work out for them in their new guild.
Players will not be power leveled, run through dungeons or handed loot for simply showing up. Order of Diligence expects it's members to put in time and effort to achieve worthwhile goals.
Guild Organization
Guild Master Council
These people are the leaders of the guild, all with equal responsibility. They decide the rules and enforce them. They have the ability to invite/remove people and access all tabs of the guild bank.
Azod (Bzod) - Council Head, Strategist, Raid Leader
Vinz (Vixz) - The Weird Uncle
Seamusmiles (Jimjones) - Azod's Bitch
Terracotta (Torigor) - Smells Funny
Plateface (Talt, Omgzilla) - Balloon Knot (on extended leave)
Officers
These people are the people who help the Guild Masters run the guild. They enforce the rules and answer members' questions about the guild. They have the ability to invite people and access most tabs of the guild bank.
Guru Officers
Gurus have all the responsibilities & abilities of Officers and are also responsible for oversight of their specific class. Their review the gear/spec of people to determine if they are raid ready. They will also answer class-specific questions and offer guidance toward becoming raid ready.
To find your class Guru, sort the guild member list by Rank, check the Show Offline Members box, and scroll down to section of Guru Officers.
Officer Alts
Self explanatory.
Raiders
-Level 80 guildies who are geared, speced and experienced for raiding. In addition, they must be able to attend an average of 2 or more raids per week to be a Raider.
Members
-Level 80 guildies who are not yet geared, speced or experienced for raiding, or those who are but cannot attend an average of 2 or more raids per week.
-Alts of Raiders
Socials
-Guildies who are not and have no intention of being Raiders, and simply wish to hang out with their friends. Social guildies are not permitted to ask for raid invites. If they wish to become Raiders, they must apply for the rank change.
Recruits
-Guildies under level 80
-Guildies who have not yet been gear/spec/experience checked
-Guildies who have been offline for 1 month or longer
-New guildies still on their 2 week trial period.
New potential recruits to the guild will stay at the Recruit rank for 2 weeks, while they are evaluated (a probation period, if you will). This evaluation includes, but is not limited to, checking their gear/skill/talents, their performance on raids (including the ability to pay attention, follow directions, do their assigned tasks, and stay awake), and how well they fit in personality-wise with the guild. If, at the end of 2 weeks, we think the recruit is a good addition to the guild, they will be promoted to Member or Raider, otherwise, they will be removed from the guild.
Character Ranks and Raiding Eligibility
All characters must declare their Main Spec (a.k.a. Main Gear Set). Any item you intend to wear on raids, now or in the future, while in your Main Spec is considered a Main Spec Item (with the except of items that will only be worn in very rare circumstances). Everything else is considered an Offset item.
You must meet the gear/spec/experience check for your Main Spec to be eligible for the Raider rank. Your Main Spec should be whatever you are best geared for and best at playing. Be aware that changing your Main Spec without consulting your Guru, or changing your Main Spec on a whim or too frequently may result in losing your rank as a raider. Your Main Spec is listed at the beginning of your public note.
Guild members are allowed to have 1 'Main' character. Your main character must be your best geared toon and must meet the gear/spec/experience check. This character is he only one eligible for the Raider rank. Switching which character is your Main requires Guru/Officer approval.
All other characters are consider Alts and will be given the Member or Recruit rank, as appropriate. EPGP is pooled amongst all your characters. We expect you to bring your Main to raids not yet on farm status, regardless of whether you need drops from that particular event or not. If the Raid Leader asks you to bring an Alt to a raid, you will be have equal priority with Mains for loot on that particular raid.
In addition to the above restrictions, to be a Raider, you must be able to attend an average of 2 or more raids per week, and at least 1 Progression Event (a boss/event we have not previously completed) every other week on average. Showing up on time for an event counts towards your potential raid attendance, even if you are unable to get into the raid.
Furthermore, to be a Raider, there is a minimum level of performance on a raid that must be maintained. This includes being able to follow instructions, do your assigned job, and put out an appropriate quality of dps, hps, or tank threat/survivability relative to your gear level. The basic concept is: you must be able to play your class correctly and not be lazy.
If your Guru feels that you are significantly underperforming relative to your gear level and you are not making progress in improving, you will receive an official warning. If, after a week's worth of raiding, you haven't improved, you will receive a second and final warning. If, after one more week's worth of raiding, you still haven't improved, you will be demoted or removed from the guild, depending on the officers' decision.
Although we are sometimes lax about Alts attending events on farm status, a minimum gear check is still enforced. If you show up in mostly greens/blues, you will not be allowed to raid with that character. In other words, no free rides.
Our goal is to progress as much as we can, which can only happen by gearing up our main toons as much as we can. The guild does not exist to gear up your alts or provide you with offsets to play with. That only slows down our progression. We want people to pick a toon, focus on it, gear it, become as skilled as they can at playing it, bring it to as many raids as they can, and learn the fights backwards and forwards.
Guild Raid Schedules
Raids are usually scheduled to start at 11:55pm server time Sunday through Thursday. Events are not normally scheduled for Friday or Saturday. Unscheduled pick up events may happen on any day depending on the number of people on, what event(s) are available and interest in said event(s). This scheduling scheme is subject to change. When possible, advance notice will be given if changes occur.
Scheduled events will be posted on the weekend (usually) for the coming week. Other, unscheduled events may use the Calendar for sign-ups, at the discretion of the event organizer.
Be aware that if a scheduled event fails to start due to lack of interest or other reason, an unscheduled different event may be put together in it's place or sometime later on. The goal for all unscheduled events is to not interfere with or prevent scheduled events (e.g. not becoming saved to an instance that's scheduled before the next reset, or overlapping with a scheduled event).
Raids on farm status are organized at times that don't conflict with scheduled events. If someone wishes to organize a raid, they are free to do so. Please keep in mind that if too many people leave partway through, it's undesirable to suck in large numbers of replacements and have them all saved to the same instance.
Unscheduled, pick-up events may include non-guilded players, however it is hoped the person organizing it will try to fill as many spots as possible with guildies. Non-guilded players invited to the raid need to be vouched for by a guild member and are subject to our raid rules and gear/spec/experience checks. This includes what loot they will be eligible to receive.
Raid Rules
-Come prepared. This includes:
* Having all needed consumables (potions, elixirs, flasks, food, poisons, reagents, etc).
* Having fully repaired gear.
* Being Speced correctly for raiding, and having the correct raiding gear with you.
* Reading strategies ahead of time.
* Researching drops and deciding ahead of time which items would be an upgrade, and being ready to declare your need if those items drop.
* Be on time, ready for an invite and a summons.
-Keep vent chatter to a minimum, especially during pulls or boss encounters.
-Follow the instructions of the raid leader(s).
-If you are not authorized to give instructions to the raid, do not do so.
-The goal is to have fun, but at the appropriate times and places, game faces on please.
-If you sign up for an event, make every effort to show up and be on time.
-Do NOT publicly link damage meter stats while a raid is in progress.
-Need before greed.
-NO DRAMA.
Required Add Ons: A threat meter, Deadly Boss Mods
Recommended Add Ons: EPGP v5
All other things being equal, people who show up on time and first will have priority for a raid invites. Raiders and above have priority over Members and Recruits. However, making the raid a success is the number one priority. All events are subject to gear/spec/experience checks and class requirements, so sometimes certain people will be asked to step out in favor of someone else to help the raid have what it needs to succeed. People who arrive on time will receive points for doing so, and it will be counted towards their raid attendance, even if they don't get a spot in the raid.
We will attempt to maintain a waitlist of people who want to get into the raid. You must stay online to keep your spot in the queue. Please be aware that sometimes we will need specific classes/specs to fill empty spots.
Some people are simply not geared for certain events. There is no shame in this. Skipping ahead in content is NOT allowed (e.g. you must first gear up in 10-person events to get ready for 25-person events).
Players who have more than one level 80 appropriately geared character may sometimes be asked to switch toons in order for the raid to have the right class balance for a particular event. It is not required to switch, but the raid leader(s) would not ask unless it was important, and in some cases, the raid would be unable to continue without meeting certain class requirements.
Raiders are expected to be ready to accept an invite fifteen minutes before the raid begins. Five minutes prior to the start time, on time points will be distributed and Raid Leaders will begin looking for people outside the guild to fill the empty spots in the raid.
To be eligible for loot on events not yet on farm status, you must have an appropriate flask/elixir and food buff active.
When attempting an event the guild has never defeated before, guild bank repairs will be turned on for that raid only, available for Raiders+ who were on that raid.
If someone disconnects more than three times per hour, the raid leader has the authority to replace them. In addition, if someone is incapable of effectively carrying out their job on raid, due to intoxication or another reason, the raid leader has the authority to replace them.
Loot System
Order of Diligence uses the EPGP system. You can read about it and download the addon (version 5) at: http://code.google.com/p/epgp/
EPGP is accumulated only on scheduled events. EPGP is neither accumulated nor used on unscheduled events, events on farm status or joint ventures with other guilds.
Sometimes events are canceled at the start time due to lack of interest, lack of required classes, or other reason. If an alternate progression event takes it's place, EPGP will be used for that event. If some other, non-progression event happens in it's place or later on, it is considered an unscheduled event, and no points will be given or used on that event.
For anyone who has the EPGP addon installed, an item's GP value is displayed in the tooltip. EPGP Decays at a rate of 20% per week, calculated on Tuesdays before normal raid time. A Minimum EP of 6000 to competitively declare need is required. Those with less than 6000 EP can still declare need or offset, but their PRs are sorted below everyone whose EP is 6000+.
*Being in the raid, at the appropriate summoning stone and ready to go on time will earn 300 EP.
*Successfully killing a boss earns 300 EP.
*An unsuccessful set of attempts on a boss we haven't previously downed earns 300 EP.
*Killing a boss we haven't previously downed earns 300 bonus EP.
*Staying until the end of the raid earns 600 EP.
*Raid leaders can also hand out points (or deduct points) at their discretion, although this is rarely done.
Currently
-ICC25 / H ICC10: Full EP, Normal GP, offsets at 10% normal GP.
-ICC10 / H Tcrus25: Full EP, Normal GP, offsets at 10% normal GP.
-Tcrus25 / Ony25 / H Tcrus10: Full EP, Normal GP, offsets at 10% normal GP.
-Tcrus10 & Older content: No EPGP. Loot is still need before greed (i.e. main sets before offsets).
When an epic item drops, it will be linked in a raid warning along with "DECLARE NEED or OFFSET". Anyone who can use the item and is interested in it as an upgrade for their Main Spec have the option of saying "NEED" in raid chat. If someone wants it for something other than their main set, they can say "OFFSET" in raid chat.
Whoever has the highest PR wins the item, taking into account the following rules:
1) Main set upgrade (NEED), primary gear type (i.e. leather for rogues/druids, chainmail for hunters/shamans, etc)
2) Main set upgrade (NEED), non-typical gear type (i.e. cloth for druids, leather for paladins, +spirit for Healadins, etc)
3) Non-main set upgrade (OFFSET), any gear type
Need always has priority over Offset no matter what.
The character who receives the item for their Main Spec will be credited with it's full GP value. If the item goes to someone for an Offset, it's worth 1/10th normal GP (rounded down).
If two or more people are interested in the same item and have identical PRs, whoever has the higher EP wins it. If their EPs are also identical, a roll-off will occur.
Anyone who takes an item for an Offset and is found wearing the item as part of their Main set will be retroactively charged the full GP price and warned about future behavior. Continued attempts to steal items for a reduced GP amount may result in a ban from raiding or a guild kick.
Guild members who leave the guild as a joke or dramatic gesture and are re invited back will NOT have their lost points restored. Officers who kick players as a joke will lose their own points, and the kicked player's points will be restored.
Legendary items are a special case. The dropped items required to obtain legendary items are awarded based on raw EP (this is an indicator of those who raid the most frequently), with a preference to people who are already partway done.
Fragment of Val'anyr: 20 GP each
Shadowfrost Shard: 40 GP each
Loot Rules
When multiple items drop on the same pull, raid leaders will attempt to decide items in order of desirability, but this cannot always occur. Typically, we decide Tier Tokens first, Weapons second, other gear third, non-wearable items fourth.
High-end crafting patterns come in two types:
Tradeskill patterns that produce Bind on Pickup items:
These patterns are considered gear and will be handled via the Loot System described in the above section. One additional criteria for loot eligibility is: You must currently have the appropriate profession and required skill to produce the item. If no one in the raid is interested in the item for an upgrade, the pattern will be guild banked if it's BoE, and sold for guildbank cash if it's BoP.
Tradeskill patterns that produce Bind on Equip items:
These patterns do not use the EPGP system. They can be rolled on by crafters in the raid who currently have the appropriate profession and the required skill. Failing that, rolls will be open to crafters who do not yet have the required skill. Failing that, the pattern will be guild banked if it's BoE, or sold for guildbank cash if it's BoP.
Items that start quests which result in BoP gear are treated as gear upgrades, and cost GP based on the reward(s) of the quest.
Blue items and above that drop on guild events are saved and disenchanted, guildbanked, or sold for guild use. Certain non-BoP items (e.g. Runed Orbs, trade skill mats, etc) are also saved for guild use.
All BoE gear (including tradeskill patterns) that is not needed by anyone on the raid an upgrade will be guild banked.
A Main Spec item is defined as any item that will be worn on a raid as part of your main gear set, regardless of it's armor type (cloth, leather, chain, plate), including items you may use only part of the time. Items that will only be used in very rare circumstances are usually an exception and are considered an offset item.
An Offset items is defined as any item that will not be worn on a raid as part of your main gear set (e.g. a tanking item if you're a dps or healer as your main spec), regardless of it's armor type (cloth, leather, chain, plate), including pvp gear.
Players have first rights to their primary armor type on main set upgrades. All others are eligible only if no one of that primary armor type wants it for a main set. For example, a resto druid is only eligible for a cloth item as a main set upgrade if no priests, mages or warlocks want it for a main set upgrade, and if the druid takes it, it costs full GP.
In addition, some items are clearly intended for certain classes/specs. Priority goes to the players for whom they’re intended, even if someone else may consider it a 'ghetto' upgrade. For example, a hunter is only eligible for an item with expertise if no one of a class who needs expertise wants it, and a holy paladin is only eligible for an item with spirit if no one of a class who needs spirit wants it.
In all situations, officers have the final say in eligibility. Please don't stress out too much about gear. The overall goal of these rules is to ensure that items go to the people who most need and can use them to best effect.
Guild Bank Rules
Each tab of the guild bank has a description on the information tab. READ IT.
Most guild bank items (e.g. trade skills mats, BoE equipment/patterns, quest items, gems, etc) are available for purchase on a first come first serve basis. Occasionally certain items are reserved for specific guild needs. Raiding supplies can be withdrawn or requested from the guild bank for guild raids. Prices are usually set at 1/2 current market price, although some items have a GP cost.
BoE gear is available for purchase, with a preference given to those who want the item for their Main Spec, and, in the case of tradeskill patterns, have the required profession and skill. After a significant period of time, if no one in the guild wants the item, it will be sold to fund guild needs.
Donations to the guild bank of items/mats/cash are gladly accepted. Most things that are not useful for level 70+ players or things that sit unwanted in the guild bank for extended periods of time will generally be sold to raise cash for guild needs.
Anything withdrawn MUST be used yourself or by a guildie. Withdrawing items and selling them for a personal profit will NOT be tolerated.
