This is the bosskillers positioning information. I think moving him north/south instead of east/west may give us less of a range headache (but more of a volcano one). Also It suggests the offtanks having more HP than the main tank. So next time I'll bring the stamina gear I've got sitting in my bank. Also YES: his hitbox IS larger than his attack range, so if the melee stand with...I dunno...a dps that can charge into the max range of his hitbox (marked with a green triangle or something) they can freely dps without fear of hateful strike.

But anyway, look at that...consider it. And sorry I'm an asshole.
