Wrath Raiding Changes
We have recently implemented a few changes to our raiding policies out of anticipation for the new raid content available in Wrath. I recommend you familiarize yourself with these changes.
Raid Eligibility and Minimum Standards: We have tightened up our policies to allow for more effective raiding. We hope these changes streamline our progression from 10 to 25 man content without the gear displacement issues we experienced during BC. Please review our policies on our Guild Rules page. Similarly to raiding in the Burning Crusade, we expect our raiders to understand our guild policies before stepping into new content.
Rankings: We have adjusted the guild ranks to properly reflect member eligibility (be it skill and/or gear) for Wrath raiding. All players, with the exceptions of Officers, Gurus, and Guild Masters have had their ranks renamed to Member. Many members worked hard during BC, and this ensured that they received and kept the "raider" rank. Because the newest raid content requires all members to regear, the term "raider" did not properly define all guildies as we are in different stages of raiding preparation. As of now, previous guildies who had received the "raider" rank still experience the benefits of being a raider (guild bank access), despite being identified as a "member". Players who were previously identified as "groupies" are also now known as "members" but they do not have the special privileges that our past raiders enjoy.
A new rank has been formed, labeled "Wrath Raider", which identifies players who meet the minimum skill and gear requirements for Wrath raiding. As of now, all players ranked as a member have the opportunity to be promoted to "Wrath Raider". The requirements for this rank are more strict than the previous "raider", but are not particularly difficult to achieve. Your specific Officer Guru will be able to inform you of your classes own minimum standards for Wrath Raiding.
Website Updating: Although the website may not be a major part of your daily WoW lives, it is an essential tool for GM's and raid leaders. The maximum rank for all characters has been increased to 80. Many players have switched specs, or leveled different toons that have not been added to the database. Please edit your account info to reflect the changes made to your characters in Wrath. You can do this by clicking "My account" on the right, and then selecting "edit". It is particularly difficult for us to guess who's characters are who's, and what characters are what spec and the character database on the website solves this problem. Updating this information takes mere minutes. This is considered helping the guild and failure to follow simple instructions and simple tasks will effect the GM's decisions as to whether or not you are capable of following more complicated instructions during raids.
Upcoming Naxxramas 10 Man: The first Naxxramas run will be held on this upcoming Tuesday. Please note: this is a trial run. It's sole purpose is to "test the waters" so we can determine how capable we are of raiding at this stage in the game. We expect a lot of trial and error and by the end of the run we should have a good idea as to what the minimum raiding requirements are.
Raid composition is similar to Kara in that we require:
- 2 Tanks
- 3 Healers
- 5 DPS
We understand that numerous players have recently hit 80. Unfortunately, our level 80 DPS classes outnumber our tank and healer classes 3:1. As of today, we have enough tanks, dps, and barely enough healers for one trial group. Despite having enough DPS for a second group, we do not currently have enough tanks or healers to fill the remaining spots. This may all change by Tuesday.
Selecting members for the trial group is a delicate procedure and we expect to have the guilds full cooperation with our decisions. We require potential raiders to have a minimum of 4 pieces of epic quality level 80 gear. They must also understand the boss strategies ahead of time. All boss strategies can be found on our new Guide page. Please understand that priority goes to raid integrity. Despite the fact that we have 6 or 7 geared DPS, we cannot bring them all as the raid would surely fail. Following a proper raid format, priority will go to those players who have had enough time to get the best possible gear.
Thank you for your cooperation.
